WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE NOW AVAILABLE THROUGH NEPEAN COMMUNITY COLLEGE.... CONTACT ME FOR FURTHER INFO OR CLICK HERE.
I was born in Budapest, Hungary and moved to Australia in 1985. I began exploring the underwater world as a scuba diver in 1995 and developed a keen interest in photography to capture the exciting and unusual marine critters I had encountered underwater.
In April 1997 I managed to photograph an as yet unknown and undescribed species of Syngnathid that now bears my name as credit to the discovery. Its scientific name is Idiotropiscis lumnitzeri and you can read more about it here. I was even privileged to appear on ABC TV's prestigious 7:30 Report. If you wish to see my interview please click here.
In my spare time and any opportunity that arises I capture yet another image of something neat; whether a new species of spider, bird or even flowers. I have become especially fond of the Hawkesbury and Blue Mountains regions near my home. Check out the galleries to see what I have been up to! And see some more video clips of me diving with Bart, a beautiful Eastern Blue Wrasse and a couple more of my discovery, Sydney's Pygmy Pipehorse. (NOTE: All video clips are the courtesy of my friend George Evatt, director of Coralsea Television.
I keep a regular blog, which you can access here. In this blog I share my personal experiences mostly in the realm of nature photography, occasionally touching on other subject matters as I see fit. Enjoy the read!
