Forum running well

July 6th, 2010

Hey

The new A MATTER OF LIGHT nature photography forums are up and running well with the help of the ever present and great Steve Davey, who is also a mighty fine nature photographer himself. Okay, there is something wrong with Steve, he is a Nikon user but I guess in the overall scheme of things that is a forgiveable offense. :)

In just over a week, we have 9 members, 350 posts pertaining to 76 topics. Not bad for a seven-day stint. Luckily, we approve registrations based on who we feel will contribute to the community best and leave the showy types for the rest of cyberspace to fight over. We don’t (rephrase) I don’t want that. Nothing pisses me off more than seeing people do post and runs on other sites where others work hard to make it a success. Those will not be at A MATTER OF LIGHT forums. It’s best to have 30 or so active and supportive folks than to have a thousand most of who don’t care.

Also, an important note, if you want to register at A MATTER OF LIGHT forums, you need to use your real first and last names please. :) We will change it and contact you to do so. Thanks.

I have not done much photography of late. Been busy and since my wife’s on holidays from a gruelling first semester as a veterinary science student, she and I have been catching up on each others’ company. It’s great, we watched some DVDs for the first time (together) since February!!!! Yes, it’s been that long.

Though I keep an eye on interesting birds around locally, not a lot has happened out of the ordinary. Here are a couple of images from the old days to keep you entertained.

Have a great day!

Another spotlit image, this time a Common Brushtail Possum portrait. Aren't they just so cute?
